Kaarlo J. Hietala, Jr.

Kaarlo J. Hietala is the founder and President of Liuos Thinking, Inc., a VA Certified, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Liuos Thinking is a company dedicated to providing solutions to challenges relating to Logistics, Homeland Security/Defense and Operations to the federal Government and Private Sector. Kaarlo provides executive-level strategic advisory services to Liuos Thinking clients. He drives the current mission agenda for the company and is the visionary behind its focus on Logistics, Homeland Security, and Operations.

Hietala is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army with 24 years of active military service and was a recipient of the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star Medal. Throughout his career, he has served in various leadership positions with increasing levels of responsibility in a in a variety of Logistical, Homeland Security and Operational assignments. His key assignments included G3, Operations Officer for the 53rd Troop Command; Deputy Director of Logistics for the New York Army National Guard; Commander, 24th Weapons of Mass Destruction (Antiterrorism) Civil Support Team in Brooklyn, NY; 42nd Infantry Division Logistical Officer in Tikrit, Iraq; and Commander, 2nd Weapons of Mass Destruction (Antiterrorism) Civil Support Team in Scotia, NY. During his military career he served in numerous assignments within the United States, as well as overseas.
